Yesterday’s Mistakes

We have all made terrible mistakes in the past. The question is, how do we keep them in the past? How do we prevent them from affecting our lives? How do we prevent them from standing in the way to a better future?

Past mistakes are not going anywhere. They are part of our lives. What we can do is to reduce the power they have over us. How can we do that?

If you want to enjoy today, if you want to live a happier life, keep your past mistakes in the past. That does not mean you should forget them. That is not what I am talking about. Don’t let them disrupt your life. Control them by controlling how you think about them.

If yesterday’s mistakes are still holding you back, if they are still pulling you back, do one thing: never turn back, always forward looking. If you turn back, then the power of yesterday’s problems will bring you down. Don’t allow that to happen. Focus on today. Concentrate on what you are doing today, and don’t let the past steal your future away.

You have a better life ahead of you, so protect it.
