Chaotic Times

As Margaret J. Wheatley put it, “The things we fear most in organizations- fluctuations, disturbances, imbalances- are the primary sources of creativity.” They are.

As human beings, we need chaos to survive. We need chaos to know who we are, what we can do, and what is important to us. Without chaos, without trouble, we cannot grow. We can’t make new things. New things come from chaos.

When in trouble, instead of mourning, crying, frustrated, get up and design a way forward. If you sit down and collect your thoughts, there are many ways forward. When you are going through difficult times in life, focus on the opportunities ahead of you, focus on growth, not on problems. If you want to grow, don’t see chaotic times in your life as a challenge. It is not a challenge, but an opportunity.

Whatever it is that you are going through in life, see it as an opportunity for you to live differently, work differently, and love differently. It is not meant to destroy you, but to make you stronger.”

Chaos is not a problem, but an opportunity to grow. Take it, learn from it, and move on.

It is because of them I’m doing it myself

When people say “no” to you, don’t take it personal. You should be happy that someone said no to your request. Don’t take it personal. View it through your positive lens, not through your negative lens.

It hurts to view rejection through a positive lens. But if you can do it, you will come back smarter, happier, healthier, and wealthier. Yes, wealthier, because the first rejection gave you enough time to prepare for your next move.

Sometimes when people say no to us, they don’t mean it in a bad way. They are telling you to go home and prepare before you come back. If you do, it is a win-win business. I know people say no to us for other reasons. This place is to small to run through the entire list. Next time.

Next time when someone says no to your request, don’t cry about it. Go home and prepare for a stronger comeback. Think about what went wrong the first time. Think about what you are going to do differently this time. Try not to repeat the same process. If you do it, you will get the same results.

It hurts to view rejection through a positive lens. But if you can do it, you will come back smarter, happier, healthier, and wealthier.

If you have something in mind that you have been dancing around, rejection time is the perfect time to jump on and act on it. For example, if you have been planning for years to start your own business, rejection time is the right time to work on your plan. If you don’t know what to do, you can get valuable information from your local business centers. If you have been planning to get back to school, rejection time is the right time to enroll that course. Use your time wisely. This is not the time to waste time. This is the time to get stuff done. This is the time to prove to yourself that you can get things done. Albert Einstein famously said, “I am thankful for all of those who said NO to me. It’s because of them I’m doing it myself.”

You need people to succeed, but when rejected, you can do it yourself.

Yes, you can!
